Lunching with @melissa808 at Ha Long Noodle House in City Square Shopping Center
Thai food is usually not my thing, but since Melissa said that she was sure I would find something to eat I decided to chance it. And I sure am glad that I did. YUM!

Dinner from Subway @kahalamallctr (Kahala Mall, Hawaii)
Stopped by Kahala Mall for a late dinner and ran into the cousins (other cousin still in stroller and not into eating solids yet) who stayed to visit and eat too. From the background ambient sounds you can tell that Kahala Mall is "the place to be" or at least a happy place to be.

T-Mobile's Spin Doctors at Work
This was in my last billing and I just had to laugh when I read it. The background here is that for most of the year (if not longer) T-mobile has been sending out stuff saying "save trees" "go green" blah, blah, blah. All good messages in and of themselves don't get me wrong, I am all for saving trees and such. BUT I didn't change my plan to paperless because I felt as though I was being treated like I was stupid or something. The real facts notwithstanding that I may actually BE stupid. Here is the way I looked at it. T-mobile had told me that I was getting my paper bills with the detailed billing because I was such a loyal customer and had been with them forever and so I was grandfathered in. BUT if I were to ever opt out of the program if I were to opt back in then there would be a charge. Ok, fair enough I can see that part. But where is it where I get a DISCOUNT for not having them have to print, sort and mail my 7 page bill? How come I'm the only one giving up something here? Aren't they saving some money by not having to do any of that stuff? Oh yeah, I'm the bad person for not taking the option to save trees, but they are the ones with a direct benefit if I opt to save trees. Huh? Ok, so apparently their "everyone do good and save trees" angle to trying to get people to save them money didn't work. So now they come out with this...
Now they are going to basically charge everyone who is getting paper bills. So my being a loyal customer and "grandfathered" in is negated. Fine, it was only a matter of time when I would have caved anyways I guess. After all I do want to save trees and I almost never look at my paper bill anyways. But it was the principle of the thing! They are saving money by my opting for electronic but they don't offer me a piece of that. Heck by this new charge we even have a dollar amount. They should have offered me at least half so we could have split the burden of saving trees. A 75 cent discount for opting out of paper bills. Doesn't that seem more than reasonable to stop sending me a 7 page phone bill on paper? Well actually front and back so about 4 pages really. Ok, water under the bridge, just start saving trees you lousy human being you! Yes, ok....but wait...according to them I will be "saving money" by doing this. Huh? So you want me to feel good about "saving money" on a charge that I was never getting to begin with and that YOU are imposing on me? Huh? Thank your Sir may I have another?! It's not easy being a loyal customer. Sigh.

Lunching on Some Tombstone Pizza
Alex and I decided to have some Tombstone Pizza for lunch today. I know it isn't eating local, but we bought it from a local store. Oh wait, no we didn't. Well I'm eating it locally. Notice the thinner sliced pieces. That was done on purpose because they taste better that way. Try it next time, slice some regular and then slice some of those in half and see how it tastes. The thinner ones taste better. But you can't make all of them thin or you won't appreciate the thin ones. Time to eat! Enjoy!
Question of the Day “Where are you attached to being right?" Video by @tracitoguchi
Traci's Question of the Day yesterday was too good for me to pass on replying and so I did. Here is her video.
And here is my reply.
Luckily she's a good sport and actually cracked up watching it.
Can't wait for the next QotD, whoo hoo!

ParkRat's Question of the Day Quest
Traci Toguchi was kind enough to lend me some advice and shared how she goes about getting her Question of the Day ideas. Here is my first attempt at a Question of the Day.
How'd I do?
How'd I do?
Lunch from St. Louis Delicatessen (Kaimuki, Hawaii)
Picked up lunch from St. Louis Okazuya and headed back to the beach. After almost a full week of school we figured the boys could use a treat. It was a beautiful day at the beach!

Dinner @Zippys (Kahala, Hawaii)
Da Sumida Ohana decided to head on over to Zippy's to check out the specials of the month that was Tweeted (http://twitter.com/zippys). Obviously the shrimp scampi is a favorite of the family's.
Apparently a dessert (sundae) was in order as well and was divided amongst all who was willing to pick up a spoon and go for a taste.
We all left very very satisfied and full.
Lunching at Likelike (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Since I had some changes in my lunch plans today @tracitoguchi decided to take pity on me and fill the gap. @parkrat only had the bowl of clam chowder. The rest of the meal was all Traci. Hahaha.

Haili's Hawaiian Foods (Victoria Ward, Hawaii)
Decided to stop by Haili's since they posted a picture of their long rice bowl on Twitter (http://twitter.com/HailisLuau) a few days ago and have been Jones-ing for my own. I was not disappointed. It was ONO! Gotta go back to try the kalua pork and/or the lau lau bowls now!

Tweetup at Bangcok Chef (Manoa, Hawaii)
When @funhiguy told me he wanted to get a tweetup going for lunch I did not anticipate him trying to slip in an intervention to get me to expand my eating habits. So when he suggested Bangcok Chef I said, sure I'm in after all it is the company that I was going for more than the food. In any case, I did find something to eat for lunch that didn't include having to ask them to leave all the green stuff out. Here is a quick video of what the Tweeters at this tweetup had. In attendance were, @funhiguy @ParkRat @addfun @davekozuki @tadasauce @ryankanno @susieschmoozee @Bigbadpig. I didn't get a chance to talk to @bigbadpig at all and so am going to have to try and track him down again. For that matter, I did get to talk to @addfun enough to know that she is always in photos drinking, but doesn't consider herself a drinker. I still don't know how that can be! Hahaha. Thanks Garry for organizing a great tweetup! And for trying to expand my eating world. It isn't going to happen, but I appreciate the effort.

Okata Bento Lunch at Kahala Beach Park (Kahala, Hawaii)
Tomorrow marks the end of summer for my kids (actually one of them started today) and so I decided to take them to the beach one last time before the grind of school begins. We picked up lunch from Okata Bento in Kaimuki. Dropped off my wife's lunch with her at work and then headed down to the beach for some good food and some fun in the sun. Here is da grinds!
Lunch at Rainbow Drive In (Kapahulu, Hawaii)
The sound isn't the greatest, but it gives you a great indication of how windy it was yesterday at Paki Park.

Dinner at LikeLike Drive In (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Went to Ala Moana Center because the wife and kids wanted to go and check out the GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy Friends and Family sale. While there I bumped into @rickyli99 and @gypsyraven first outside the Lego store and then outside of Banana Republic. I was still sitting outside of Banana Republic when I also saw @synwpn as well. I guess tonight was the night to be at Ala Moana Center at least for us that is for sure! In any case, kids didn't want to go to Makai Market for our late dinner so we ended up at LikeLike Drive In where orders of saimin with no green onions was King!
